CENTER TOWNSHIP - The final test of a man is that he lives his life
so his children can tell their children that he stood for something
wonderful. Edward Arnold Stefanik 63 of Center Township on April 10
2005 passed away unexpectedly in his home. Born Aug. 31 1941 in
Aliquippa, he was a son of Helen (Nicola) Stefanik and the late John
Stefanik. He was a member of St. George Byzantine Catholic Church
was a 1959 graduate of Aliquippa High School and was a member of
B.P.O. Elks Lodge 1221 and the Aliquippa Buck Tails all of
Aliquippa. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962. Ed was well-
known throughout the community always ready to lend a helping hand
being self-employed in the excavating and utility business since
1967. He mentored his son Jonathan for many years recently
transferring his knowledge and business interests to him. Together
they were the proud owners and operators of Stefaniks Next
Generation Contracting Company. In addition to his father he was
preceded in death by his father-in- law George Joseph. Eddie was
fortunate to have a family who loved him immensely. In addition to
his mother Helen Stefanik of Aliquippa he is survived by his devoted
and loving wife who shared his life for 37 years Candace (Joseph)
Stefanik Center Township; proud father of their four children Dawn
Stefanik and her boyfriend Steve Claypole and Dana Stefanik all of
Monaca Heights; Eddie Stefanik and his wife Jennifer Greenville S.C.
and Jonathan Stefanik and his girlfriend Holly Himes Center
Township; a sister and brother- in-law Donna Jean and William
Elliott in Chicago; a niece, Nicole Selzer and her husband Benjamin

addition to many special aunts uncles cousins and good friends.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the
MASTROFRANCESCO FUNERAL HOME 21st and McMinn Streets Aliquippa (724)
375-0496. A funeral service will take place Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.
in St. George Byzantine Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in
Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery Hopewell Township. Parastas (blessing
service) will be held today at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Years
from now when you remember me it will not matter what kind of car I
drove what kind of house I lived in or what clothes I wore but what
will matter is maybe the world may be a little better because I was
important in the lives of those I loved.
