Esther died during an Indian attack when she was 7 years old. She wasshot through the breast by hostile Indians while out in the barnyard milking cows. She died immediately. Her mother and one other daughter escaped. The father drove them away firing from the house in the twilight of the early evening just as the sun was setting on the autumn day.
