OBITUARY
Frederick Nader was born at Rittershoffen, France, March 2, 1827.On the same day he was baptized by Pastor Douglas. When six years old, his father, Jacob Nader, brought his family to America and settled in Jackson township, this county. At the usual age he was confirmed in the Lebanon church at Junction City by the sainted Prof. Lehman. On April 4, 1851, he married Elizabeth Phillips. She departed this life Oct. 25th 1861. Five children were born to this union, 4 sons and 1 daughter. Two sons preceded him to eternity. On October 26, 1862, he was united in holy wedlock with Salome Martzolff. To this union was born 3 sons and four daughters. One son died in infancy. After his marriage he resided near Junction City, until the spring of '64 when he moved to Mondaycreek township. Here he lived, a pillar in the St. John's congregation for 41 years. In the spring of 1905 he retired in New Lexington. He was called home Wednesday evening, December 11, at 9 o'clock, after being permitted to reach the ripe age of 80 years, 9 months and 9 days. There remain to mourn his loss his wife, 9 children, 37 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives. his funeral was held Saturday morning from the Lutheran church. A sermon was preached by the pastor, Rev. 2, 10. Interment was made in Maplewood cemetery.
The death of Frederick Nader occurred at his late home in thisplace, Thursday, after a prolonged illness caused by a compilation of diseases. He was 81 years of age, and a native of France, and was most highly respected by those who knew him. Nine children, 37 grand children and seven great grand children survive. The children are: Lewis Nader, Mrs. Jerry Wilson, Mrs. Amelia Wilson, Mrs. William Dennis and Mrs. Fitzpatrick, of this place; Charles Nader of Shawnee; Mrs. McGilroy of Columbus, George Nader, of Glouster, and David Nader of the west. The funeral services were held at the Lutheran church Saturday morning. Rev. A. L. Swinehart, officiating, interment in Maplewood cemetery.
