Mr. Amos Otis, noted genealogist, declares in his book on Barnstable,that this family lived about one half mile from their nearest neighbor at a solitary spot. He also thinks that Israel was not a farmer because he only cleared a small area of forest on his land. Early records applied the prefix Mr. to his name, indicating he was a man of some worth. Nothing more is known about this family without additional research.
