Jacob Baumgardner died 1816 in Muskingum County, Ohio. His wifedied
before he left Pennsylvania. He came from York County (now Adams
County), Pennsylvania to Springfield Township, Muskingum County, Ohio
(was Fairfield County, Ohio) in 1799; returned and brought his son and
daughter-in-law with him.
Prior to 1800, Adams County was part of York County Pennsylvania.Littlestown, Pennsylvania, which is mentioned in several records, is Petersburg, Pennsylvania. Johann Jacob is listed as Jacob, Anna Christina as Christina in some Pennsylvania records.

He is listed as being of Germany township, Blacksmith, 2 lots, 1 house, 2 outhouses, 2 horn'd cattle, 4 sheep, 4 inhabitants. Valuation 100.12 pounds, tax 2 pounds.
Joh. Jacob was baptized by Rev. John Casper Stoever, 22 Dec 1751at Bethel. The Hill church was in the Bethel district and was the likely place of baptism. The sponsors were Wendel Heyl and his wife, Anna.
Jacob came to Springfield Township while it was still part ofFairfield County in 1799.
