LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF NATHAN SPENCER dated 12 March 1802 and probated 2 December 1806 in Loudoun County,Virginia estate: personal 734.29 and land 4,596.70, to Goose Creek MM 10 pounds Be it remembered that I Nathan Spencer of the county of Loudoun andstate of Virginia being far advanced in age but through divine favors of sound mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of time in this transitory world do hereby make this my last will and testament in the following manner. Viz: First I direct my hereafter named executors shortly after mydecease to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses out of my personal estate. Secondly as my four sons, Samuel, John, William and Nathan havealready had each of them a full share of my landed estate for which they ;have all had deeds of conveyance either from myself or from such other persons as land was purchased from for them. It is therefore my will and direction that all the remaining part of my land suppose to contain two hundred acres with the improvements thereon be sold by my executors for the best price it will command and the real proceeds of the sale be equally divided among my five daughters namely Margaret, Mary, Rachel, Hannah and Sarah share and share alike. Thirdly I give and bequest to each of my two younger daughters, Hannahand Sarah one horse and saddle and one cow for each of them which is to be the horses I have that they now call theirs and also all the furniture such as beds, drawers, chairs which is kept in their room and now called theirs, and all the remaining part of my estate of every kind I desire to be sold and out of the proceeds thereof I give and bequest the sum of ten pounds to Goose Creek Monthly Meeting of Friends, and all the remains thereof I direct to be equally divided among all my nine children and lastly I nominate and appoint my tow sons John and Nathan to be executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and disallowing any former will or wills by me made and this only taken for my last will and testament in witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this twentieth day of the third month in the year eighteen hundred and two. Signed sealed and acknowledged by the said Nathan Spencer to his last will and testament in the presence of us. John Herst, Israel Janey and Benjamin Bradfield At a court held for Loudoun County, December 2th 1806, this will wasproved by Benjamin Bradfield a witness thereto and ordered to be certified and on the motion of John Spencer, on of the executors therein named who made affirmation according to law and together with Bernard Taylor and Benjamin Bradford his securities entered into and advanced their bond on the penalty of ten thousand dollars with condition as the law directs executors is granted him for obtaining a probate thereof in due form and liberty is named the other executor to join in the probate thereof as he shall think fit and at another court held for said county the 11th day on May 1807 the same was fully proved by John Herst another witness thereto who made affirmation that he singed his name as a witness and ordered to be recorded. Another s, Nathan Spencer Jr was b at Fairfax, Loudon Co., Va. This family was transferred to Goose Creek MM, Loudon Co. Va. in 1785 when that MM was set off from Fairfax MM. Nathan SPENCER Sr w Hannah & ch were transferred from Fairfax MM Va toGoose Creek MM a 26-12-1785 they having lived within the limits of Goose Creek Preparative mtg since 1761 and having, juring the interim, been members of Fairfax MM to which MM Goose Creek PM belonged until it was made a MM 26-12-1785 Nathan Spencer Sr was rocf Abington MM Pa by Fairfax MM Va 26-11-1761 Hannah his w and their ch: Margaret, Samuel, Mary & John were rec in mbrp by Fairfax MM 30-3-1765 another s Nathan Jr was b while the fam was joined to Fairfax MM and to Goose Creek PM Nathan Spencer Sr d 30-1-1809 & left by his will 10 lbs to Goose Creek MM.
