Death of Mrs. Jennie Wray
Mrs. Ellen Shipley of this place received a telegram Tuesdaytelling of the death of her sister, Mrs. Jennie Spencer Wray, aged 72 years, wife of Lafayette Wray of Walkerton, Indiana, which occurred Monday. She had been in poor health for a long time and last Saturday suffered a stroke which hastened the end. She was the oldest of the family of Nathan and Ann Oliver Spencer and was born in Meigsville Township. She left this county about 37 years ago. At the time of her marriage she resided in Illinois and later the family moved to Walkerton, Indiana where she has since resided. Besides her husband she leaves five children, Unice of LaPort, Indiana, Annie and Donald of the home, Ora of South Bend, Indiana and Kenneth of Chicago. Brothers and sisters surviving are John O. Spencer of Meigsville Township, Mrs Ellen Shipley of McConnelsville, Mrs. Lizzie Perkins of Bethesda, Ohio, Mrs. Fannie Brown of Marysville, Ohio and Mrs. Eva Moore of Brilliant, Ohio. Mrs. Wrays death is the first break in the family circle.
Funeral services and burial were at Walkerton.
