SAD NEWS
For a well known and highly esteemed family of the Baileyneighborhood. On Thursday night Mr. George Harmer relieved the following telegram.
San Antonio, Texas, February 23, 1904
To George Harmer, Malta, Ohio;
Your son Eli Harmer and wife are dead what do you want done withremains.
Further then the above no particles have been learned, but thefollowing dispatch was contained in the flat matter sent out Thursday to the Democrat and other county papers. It is said to be the same that appeared in the Cincinnati Post. " San Antonio, Texas, February 24 - N. Harmer formerly of Malta, Ohio Tuesday night shot and killed his wife and then committed suicide shooting himself through the heart. Both died almost instantly."
Whether this is Eli Harmer or not, we know not, but whatever thecircumstances may be, Mr. George Harmer and family have the sympathy of all who know them.
